Youth Festival «LocalFriends 2020»

November 13- 15, the Youth Festival LocalFriends 2020 was held at the youth camp of the Russian Schoolchildren Movement. The organizers of the festival are the Togliatti branch of the Russian Schoolchildren Movement and the Department of the International and Interregional Relations, Togliatti City Administration, the coordinators and participants of the International youth project "Localfriends".

The main goals of the youth festival "Localfriends 2020" are to introduce the information about partnership and friendship of cities and the international humanitarian relations between cities for the youth audience, as well as to offer new formats for continuing communication with participants of the International Youth Project "Localfriends" from different countries.

This year, teams of schoolchildren form the Volga region became participants of the Festival LocalFriends 2020 in Togliatti, and youth teams from sister cities and partners could follow the events on social networks.

For 3 days, the youth teams got acquainted with the sister-cities and residents of the country, which they got during the draw. The schoolchildren tried on the roles of foreign tourists and delegates from Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Bulgaria and China and, taking into account the national, linguistic and cultural characteristics of the selected countries, offered each other the best ways to get a pleasant and unforgettable travel experience in Togliatti.

During exciting games and teamwork, the participants of the Festival were able to learn a lot about the history, features and attractions of the sister-cities and about the national traditions and language of different countries. The teams prepared a performance "A Guide to Togliatti as it sees a foreigner", where they told how the city of Togliatti could be a place of interest for foreign tourists and youth.

At the end of the International Youth Festival "Localfriends 2020", a "Classroom meeting with Dmitry Todosov, the Head of the youth camp and the organizer of the festival, took place. The topic of the meeting was international cooperation with sister-cities for youth projects in current conditions.

In order to continue communication and to send greetings, Russian schoolchildren teams prepared and recorded video cards for their colleagues and friends from youth teams in different sister-cities.
